Turn admirers into booked consultations

SEO for interior designers with clients who fit

SEO for interior designers helps people who like your work find out what hiring you involves. We write the story behind each project, set out how your fees work and match your Google listing to the services you offer. People can check your style and fee approach before booking a consultation.

In two checks about two months apart, our client SHORE went from absent to first in one Sydney builder shortlist. See both ChatGPT answers.

Our work and thinking

We built SHORE’s website and run its SEO. The guide shows the Sydney builder question we asked ChatGPT and both of its answers.

Beautiful photos still need words

SEO for interior designers from mood board to enquiry

A client might first see your work on Instagram or Houzz. Before they get in touch, they search your studio to check the details. That search decides whether they book a consult or keep scrolling. Our SEO services give each room, fee and service enough words for Google and AI answers to understand.

Show what stayed and changed

A finished kitchen can hide how much work the client commissioned. We explain which fittings stayed, which joinery was replaced and whether you chose furniture or managed purchasing. Materials appear in close-up, with photography rights and credits checked. Someone planning a refresh can then tell it apart from a full renovation.

Say what a project costs

People search for designer costs before they call anyone. A page that explains your fees answers that question early. We set out how you charge for consultations, design work and buying furniture on a client’s behalf. You decide whether to show starting prices. The enquiry form then asks which service and fee approach they want to discuss.

Separate styling from design

A client wanting new furniture for a living room needs a different page from one renovating a whole terrace. We give each service its own page, from a one-off colour consult to a full design with drawings and site visits. Each page says what the client receives at the end.

Describe your design role

In NSW, your website must not present you as an architect unless you are registered. We describe the services you provide in plain words. Where a registered architect works with you, we name them as your collaborator. For other states and territories, we check the relevant board’s rules before changing professional titles.

Make your listing a studio

Your Google listing should say what you design and where. We choose the category that matches your services. Then we set the area you travel to or show the studio address if clients visit. Houzz and other design directories should carry the same name and services. We ask clients for genuine Google reviews without incentives or requests for a particular rating.

Name the style you sell

Clients often describe a look before they know a designer’s name. They search for a warm minimal kitchen or a coastal family home. We build pages around the styles and rooms you want to be hired for, with your own past projects as the examples. A studio known for heritage terraces should not read like one that fits out offices.

AI search

AI search for designers reads your project notes

Someone can ask ChatGPT for an interior designer who does calm family homes in the Inner West. ChatGPT search links to the pages it uses. A gallery with no captions tells a reader little about the work. Our AI search optimisation adds the style, rooms and suburb to each project in plain sentences.

Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode point to the sites they used. Perplexity lists sources under each answer. Your Houzz page and Google listing are public as well. When they describe the same services as your website, there is less for an answer to get wrong.

People also ask AI tools whether a designer is worth the cost. A fee page written in your words gives those tools your own answer to use. We keep it current when your consultation fee or minimum project size changes.

How we work

Start with the room you want to be known for

  1. Pick the work to grow

Tell us the projects and suburbs you want more of. We look at what clients search before they book a designer there.

  2. Gather the project notes

We collect briefs, photos and credits for your best finished rooms. Short notes from you are enough for us to write from.

  3. Check every word

You approve each page before it goes live. We check professional titles against the rules that apply to your studio.

  4. Add projects each month

Send the next shoot when it is ready. We publish the project and link it to the service it shows.

Good questions

What studios ask before hiring us for SEO

What are the best marketing strategies for interior designers?

Show finished work with enough words to explain it, then make the next step easy. Social media builds interest. Your website turns that interest into a booked consult when it explains services, fees and process. Keep your Google listing and Houzz profile consistent. Invite clients to leave a genuine review without steering the rating. We focus on the website and listing work that brings enquiries from search.

Should we put prices on our website?

Explain how you charge, even if you leave out exact figures. People search for designer costs before they call, so a fee page meets them early. Say what a consultation includes and how design fees are set. Explain how you handle furniture bought on a client’s behalf. A starting price, if you are comfortable sharing one, filters out poor-fit enquiries.

Can we call ourselves interior architects in NSW?

In NSW, only people on the NSW Register of Architects may use the title architect. We check whether your studio’s wording would suggest that registration. Your pages should name the services you provide, such as space planning or joinery design. For work outside NSW, we check the relevant board’s rules before any new page goes live.

Does a Houzz profile help with Google?

It gives people another public page to read about your studio. AI tools that search the web can read it too. Keep its name, services and photos consistent with your website. Link back to your own project pages. Reviews there should be genuine, as on Google. Your website still needs to hold the fullest version of each project.
