For clinics with more than one discipline

SEO for allied health for fuller clinic diaries

SEO for allied health helps people find the right practitioner in a clinic that offers several disciplines. We give each discipline its own page and explain referral and funding routes. We also keep every practitioner’s Google details accurate. Someone searching for a dietitian or podiatrist nearby can then see who to book and what it costs.

Our work and thinking

See a cited page before you decide

We built SHORE’s website and run its SEO. The guide shows the project page Google cited, alongside SHORE’s search totals for two four-week windows.

Put every discipline in front of the right patient

SEO for allied health starts with each discipline

A clinic with physiotherapy, podiatry and dietetics often shows one services page that ranks for none of them. Your quieter disciplines stay hidden behind the busiest one. Our SEO services treat each discipline as its own search. The person looking for an exercise physiologist lands on that page. Dental teams can use our guide to SEO for dentists.

Give each discipline a page

People rarely search for allied health by that name. They type a profession and a suburb, such as dietitian Penrith. We write a page for every discipline you offer. It says who provides it, how long the first visit takes and what it costs. Read SEO for physiotherapists, SEO for chiropractors or SEO for psychologists for one profession in depth.

Explain care plan referrals

Many patients arrive with a GP chronic condition management plan. Under that plan, eligible patients can receive up to five individual allied health services in a calendar year. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander patients can receive up to ten. Patients want to know whether you accept the referral and what gap remains. We answer that on each discipline page. NDIS-funded visits get their own explanation. Clinics that deliver NDIS supports can also read our guide to SEO for NDIS providers.

Each profession’s own rules

Ahpra works with 15 National Boards. Occupational therapy, podiatry and physiotherapy each have one. Speech pathology, dietetics and exercise physiology sit outside that list. In New South Wales, most practitioners outside registration must display a code of conduct and complaints notice. Their website is one of the accepted places to display it. We write each page to the rules of the person providing that service.

State the terms of offers

A free fifteen-minute chat or a discounted first visit can bring in bookings. Ahpra’s guidelines say an advertised gift, discount or inducement must state its terms and conditions. Testimonials about clinical care are also off limits. We put the conditions beside the offer itself, so reception never has to explain a catch on the phone.

Set up practitioner profiles

Google allows a profile for a public-facing practitioner when patients can contact them directly at the verified location during stated hours. The clinic can keep its own separate profile. A practitioner profile carries only that person’s name. We choose the clinic’s primary category from its main service and add the other disciplines as extra categories. Hours, booking links and photos then match what patients find on your website.

Make referring easy for GPs

A GP practice deciding where to send a care plan patient looks for three things. They want your disciplines, current wait times and how to send a referral. We publish a short page for referrers with those details and your report-back process. It also links to every discipline page, so the GP can send the patient straight to the right one.

SEO plan fit

Plan for several disciplines in up to three areas

For a single suburb, Suburb SEO costs $890/month + GST with no setup fee and runs month to month. Most mixed clinics start on SEO Growth at $2,900/month + GST, which includes Website Care and covers up to three areas. The $750 + GST setup is waived when you commit to six months. Every SEO plan is month to month, so you can cancel anytime. A single-discipline practice can begin with our free SEO audit.

AI search

AI search for allied health joins profession and funding

A parent could ask ChatGPT to find a paediatric occupational therapist in Blacktown who takes NDIS clients. That one question joins a profession, an age group, a suburb and a funding route. We put those details together so a parent can check whether your clinic fits. Our AI search optimisation work checks each discipline page for all four.

Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode show links to the websites they draw from. ChatGPT search and Perplexity cite their sources too. A patient who clicks through should find the full funding rules. We put eligibility and annual limits beside each funding explanation, along with your fees and referral process.

We run the questions your patients ask through these tools each month. When an answer leaves out a discipline you offer, we find the page it relied on. Then we fix the missing detail, whether that is a suburb, a referral rule or a practitioner’s qualification.

How we work

Start with the discipline that has room this month

  1. List disciplines and gaps

Tell us which disciplines you offer and where appointments go unfilled. That list sets the order of the first pages.

  2. Check each practitioner

We compare every practitioner’s Google profile, title and booking link with your website. Mismatches go to the top of the fix list.

  3. Approve copy by profession

Each practitioner reviews the page for their own discipline. Claims, funding details and titles stay accurate to their registration or membership.

  4. Check the referral handoff

We check whether a GP can find the discipline, referral form and report-back contact from one page. Any missing step becomes the next update.

Good questions

Allied health SEO questions from owners

What does SEO stand for in healthcare?

SEO stands for search engine optimisation, the same as in any industry. In an allied health clinic it means making each discipline easy to find on Google and in AI answers. The patient searching for a podiatrist should land on your podiatry page. That page should already answer their questions about referrals, fees and appointment times.

How much does SEO typically cost in Australia?

Our prices are published. Our SEO audit is free. Local SEO is $1,500/month + GST, SEO Growth is $2,900/month + GST and SEO Authority is $4,900/month + GST. A clinic with several disciplines usually needs SEO Growth, because each discipline needs its own pages and practitioner profiles kept current.

What are some effective marketing ideas for clinics?

Start with a page for each discipline and a clear explanation of care plan and NDIS referrals. Then give GPs a simple way to refer. Keep every practitioner’s Google profile accurate, including hours and booking links. These steps help people who are already searching. Ahpra’s rules still apply, so leave out testimonials and spell out the conditions on any offer.

What is the role of marketing in healthcare?

Marketing in healthcare helps people choose the right care with accurate information. For an allied health clinic, that means showing which practitioner treats what, what it costs and how funding works. Good marketing reduces wasted bookings and phone calls. It also has to follow advertising law, which bans clinical testimonials and misleading claims for regulated health services.
